Danity Kane was a group assembled through the reality-tv show Making The Band. They were featured through the 3rd iteration of the show, the first putting together pop group O-Town and the second putting together male R&B group Day26.

Producer Sean Combs aka Puff Daddy aka P. Diddy was in search of the next female supergroup. Over two seasons of the show 5 members would be selected, Aubrey O'Day, D. Woods, Shannon Bex, Dawn Richard and Aundrea Fimbres.

Their debut self-titled studio album was released in 2006 and has just turned 15. The project featured a wide range of producers assembled by Diddy to work with the group including Timbaland, Darkchild, Bryan Michael Co, Ryan Leslie and Scott Storch.

The lead single from the album was "Show Stopper" with Yung Joc. Yung Joc had to film his portions inside of a van while on the way back to the airport due to scheduling conflicts.

"Ride For You" was the second single, chosen through fan voting polls. The recording process for the song was shown during filming of Making The Band 3.

Danity Kane was not as cohesive a group as Diddy's prior Making the Band creation Day26, although it can certainly be argued they experienced more success. The album sits in a R&B and Pop grey area primarily due to the members in the group and Diddy influence.
